About QuickieMap
|
If you're running Win2K and you have to map network drives to a Unix machine
running an older version of Samba, then this program will make your life a lot
easier. Older versions of Samba (before 2.010) have a glitch that causes users
running Windows 2000 to get bogged down when connecting to a share. This causes
a "virtual" hang of the program you're using until the system responds (usually
about 45 seconds later).
But QuickieMap will actually work for anyone who needs to map network drives on
a regular basis. It stores all your previously mapped drives so next time it's
a snap to re-map it.
How To Use QuickieMap
|
To use QuickieMap, all you need to do is select a drive letter to map with,
enter the path you want to map to, and enter your password. Once you've mapped
to a share once, that path will be stored in the system for future use. It even
remembers what drive letter you used last time, and trys to re-use that letter
as well.
