What Is .pakMOVER

When HarlequiN asked me if i could make a program to move pak files around for Quake III: Arena, i agreed to undertake the challenge.

.pakMOVER allows the user to quickly move any pak file in or out of a special storage directory. It also allows you to add a description for each pak file. Since Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast also runs on the Quake III engine, i have added support for it as well.

HarlequiN is a master skinner. Feel free to check out his website and see all the cool stuff he's made with the help of .pakMOVER.

If you don't know what Quake III: Arena is, then you're probably bored with what i'm saying, and i suspect you'll want to click away from here now.

About .pakMOVER
.pakMOVER is a Windows based program that is totally free to download and use. All you need to do is select the pak files in your BaseQ3 that you want moved out of the way, and then click the transfer button. .pakMOVER will quickly move them into a special storage directory until you need to move them back again.

I would still like to add support for Star Trek: Elite Forces into .pakMOVER. It's on the list of things to do. My first step would be to actually buy a copy of Star Trek: Elite Forces.

I haved finished the newest version of .pakMOVER - version 1.6. It now supports Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast. I have also streamlined a few other things inside the program, so it runs better than ever.

It's been awhile since i did anything with .pakMOVER. But that's changed. I'm in the process of adding to the program. Soon it will have the ability to work with Jedi Knight 2. And maybe even Star Trek: Elite Forces.

Installation
The zip file comes with everything you need to run .pakMOVER. Just extract the installation file into a temporary location and double click the EXE to begin installation. Once the installation is done, feel free to make a shortcut to your desktop if you desire.

System Requirements
  • Windows XP, 2000, NT4, or 98 (Special Note)
  • Quake III: Arena
  • Star Wars Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Of course you don't need both games installed. But you do need at least one of them.
