| My Thoughts: |
The director (J. J. Abrams) did something that no one else has ever been able to accomplish with Star Trek, and that's make it cool. Abrams made Star Trek main stream. It's finally something everyone can enjoy, even if you've never been a fan. Sure, the story is much better if you're a fan, but it's not required. Since time travel is common in Star Trek, I doubt many of the Trekkers will complain about Abrams wiping the slate clean by altering the past. All the actors did a great job making me believe they were those characters, but I have to give Simon Pegg extra credit for being a damn good Scotty. This is one of those rare movies worthy of watching in the theatre more than once. |
